A Week in Review: 3rd- 9th January

Johnson is too flatfooted to be an effective Prime Minister. How much more are Brexit and Conservative voters willing to take? Yet again, Boris Johnson has shown he is not willing to take the required action early enough to stay on top of this pandemic. Mere hours after proclaiming in the face of overwhelming evidence… Continue reading A Week in Review: 3rd- 9th January

The last couple of weeks in review.

To start, an apology for the recent absence. This was mainly because I was moving house and that tends to take up a lot of your attention. Also, it was Christmas and this has been a pretty rubbish year so I decided to enjoy what we could do over this festive period rather than trying… Continue reading The last couple of weeks in review.

A Week in Review: 16th-22nd November

This is one of the most competitive Premier League seasons in years. The start we have seen to this most unusual of Premier League seasons has shown that this could be an extremely competitive season. Anyone who was worrying that Liverpool would run away with it again can relax, I don’t see that happening. Their… Continue reading A Week in Review: 16th-22nd November

This government is out of touch and totally incompetent.

Endless Carping?! I won’t say I was astonished by Jacob Rees-Mogg’s saying that people should stop complaining about the shortage of coronavirus tests and everyone should be praising the system instead as a ‘phenomenal success’. Apparently, everyone should heap praise on the government for having system in place at all, and ignore all the flaws… Continue reading This government is out of touch and totally incompetent.

A Week in Review: 31st August-6th September

Trump disrespects fallen soldiers of his own armed forces Now this is according to an anonymous source in an article in the Atlantic. But everything the article says fits in with the image I have of Donald Trump. I have never met the man, let alone spent enough time in his company to feel like… Continue reading A Week in Review: 31st August-6th September

Johnson threw his lot in with Cummings and showed his contempt for the British public.

Boris Johnson has showed his true colours ever since the allegations against top aide Dominic Cummings breaking lockdown regulations came out. Every word out of the government has been so absurdly insulting to the intelligence and integrity of the British public that it put paid to the image that Johnson is some sort of champion… Continue reading Johnson threw his lot in with Cummings and showed his contempt for the British public.

Boris Johnson at last did something right. He deferred to the experts.

When Boris Johnson announced that Britain was effectively in lockdown on Monday, it was, for me, the first time he actually acted as a Prime Minister should. In this instance, he knew he needed to defer to the experts and take their advice on board. Putting this country into a state of lockdown may hurt… Continue reading Boris Johnson at last did something right. He deferred to the experts.

The country needs a strong opposition in Westminster. Labour must get this leadership election right.

I'm not a member of the Labour Party. I'm actually not a member of any political party. I'm just very interested in the field and I keep up with the political news. So, while Boris continues to bluster his way through daily life as Prime Minister, my attention has turned to what the opposition is… Continue reading The country needs a strong opposition in Westminster. Having Boris Johnson as Prime Minister is a national embarrassment. He needs to be shown the door.

So, we now have a Prime Minister who has been found by the highest court in the land to have done something unlawful but doesn't care. He demonstrated that this week as Parliament reconvened after the Supreme Court's ruling on Tuesday. His entire performance at the despatch box was that of a petulant arrogant child… Continue reading Having Boris Johnson as Prime Minister is a national embarrassment. He needs to be shown the door.
